Fort Green is committed to creating an uplifting and personal experience in each class. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and welcome all levels of experience to embrace the joy of yoga with us.
Our wonderful teachers bring a world of knowledge to guide each practice and to ultimately assist with the cultivation of movement and harmony. Each class is capped to a maximum of 25 students to ensure correct alignment is maintained in a boutique environment.
We understand that yoga can be intimidating, which is why we like to be on a first name basis with our members and are driven to create a supportive and welcoming community.
I am a self-confessed “yoga changed my life” kind of girl. I started yoga for the physical benefits and to balance out my running and gym regime. However, soon enough the mental benefits started to become an integral part of my day to day life and yoga became a retreat and an outlet from the world for me. I also developed a strong connection to the studio I practiced at and the wonderful teachers who inspired me to keep showing up on my mat.
Yoga has been a constant safe space throughout many life transitions and a place I can turn to for continual growth, inspiration and progression.
My partner and I were committed to creating a space that our community could fall in love with. A place where they feel eternally welcome to practice in and not intimidated by the people, the teachers or the classes. We also want our studio to become a home away from home for our members and a space that enables the mind and body to de-clutter.
Our studio is located above our whole food cafe "Fort Green" and our concept is effectively a one stop wellness destination. Practicing yoga upstairs and then feeling the body with beautiful healthy food in our cafe after practice. The Fort Green dream!

We range our music from upbeat mellow tunes to instrumental and ambient Indian. Our teachers curate their music to best suit their classes and the theme/vibe of that practice. Some of our favourites are Massive Attack, The XX and Moderator.

It would probably involve collaborating to open a Fort Green in New York. Fort Green was inspired by the suburb Fort Greene in Brooklyn, so opening our concept in NYC would be a dream come true.
Each day we are so grateful to see our space and community evolve. It is truly heartwarming that people choose to practice at our studio and share the joy of yoga with us.
