At Radiant Sol, we get to know you by name and by heart - we are real, down to earth and care about you and your practice. Whether you're building strength and flexibility, finding mindfulness and relaxation or looking for a spiritual connection, you'll be at home at Radiant Sol. There's no need to be vegan; it's all about a balanced lifestyle here. And there are no barriers to have a good practice - only an open mind and a willingness are needed.

Preparing for Your Class

When You Arrive:

  • First thing's first - shoes off at the bottom of the stairs!
  • Aim to arrive 10-15mins before class - that will give you enough time to check in, talk to the teacher, pop your bags away and settle in properly
  • We like clear space at Radiant - no phones, no bags, no worries!
  • Free parking! But do check the signs, 1 and 2 hour signs around

What to Bring:

  • Nadda! Well, maybe just a handtowel to towel down.
  • But we have mats, blocks and all that jazz.
  • We even have showers if you need to get ready for work after!

Behind the Studio: Danielle Joan Pollock

Tell us a little bit about how your yoga journey began.

I was 23 and met with a local meditation and yoga teacher who said yoga would be good for me, and I looked strong so should come to the strong class! I was skinny, not strong! But I went and found that it was just what I needed. I learned to have this time, to keep it to myself each week. To practice and have this space. There is a lot of her in the classes I teach today. Simple, spacious, personal, calm.

What inspired you to take the leap and open up your own studio?

I've always been a little entrepenuial and felt stifled working for someone else. After leaving my full-time advertising career with nothing lined up (!), it was a yoga teacher training that popped up on my radar that reminded me how much yoga meant to me and it would be great to involve yoga in my new life!

Never wanting to be a full-time teacher, it was the business of yoga that kept me interested. From running my own yoga branding workshops, doing the marketing and management for this studio, ownership was of course the next thing!

What sort of experience are you looking to cultivate when someone steps foot inside your yoga studio?

Like they're meant to be there. Feet become a little grounded, shoulders drop away from the ears, and they can breathe and little better.

Only an open mind and a willingness are needed.

Describe the kind of music your teachers play during class. What's the music vibe like?

We're a mixed bag at Radiant Sol, sometimes traditional tunes are calling, sometimes it's Portishead, that's the beauty of our community, it's broad and accepting of each and every teacher and practice.

While we're in the neighbourhood, what local spots should we check out before or after class?

Well, Port Melbourne beach is just down the road! And Station Street Cafe is the best!

If you could collaborate with someone on a dream project, who would it be and why?

Triple R. Love these guys. Would love to have my own segment! Haha.

Lastly, what are you most proud of when it comes to your studio and/or your community?

Our space is so special. There's no ego, there's no politics.
