I started my journey as part of recovering from a trauma and when I saw how much it impacted me, I was hooked.

As a teacher, much of what I teach is about holding people in their wholeness, whether physically or at an energetic level. My vinyasa classes are mindful and fluid, as I encourage people to feel their bodies and check-in through the movements. My classes have a touch of the spiritual and mystical.

Teaching & Certification

  • I did my first TT in 2011 in Power Flow. And then I did more trainings with Christina Sell, Noah Maze, Marysia Do.
  • I completed my advanced training with Embodied Flow and I have also studied Embodied Flow Somatic Movement Therapy.
  • I currently work with Myra Avedon as my mentor.

Teaching Style

  • Theming: I love theming! I love working with the cycles of the moon, the Tantrik Goddesses and embodied experiences.

  • Sequencing: Depends on the theme.

  • Music: Like everyone else with a Spotify account, I used to DJ. I think music can drop us into the vibration of certain experiences and is incredibly important.

On & Off the Mat With: Christina Gagnier

As a yoga teacher, what inspires and motivates your teaching?

I am inspired by the idea of bringing people home to themselves. I am motivated to have people feel their bodies, come into deeper relationship to themselves, and feel their wholeness. I want people to feel empowered in their relationship to themselves.

How has your own yoga practice evolved since becoming a teacher?

I used to care a lot about being able to do lots of advanced asana, and it supported my stories of unworthiness. But then I started feeling my body. Being able to tap into the somatic sensations of my body brought me into a deep connection to myself that I had never thought possible. It was like a fast track to self healing. And this deep personal practice influences my teaching.

My classes have a touch of the spiritual and mystical.
